Baked Italian Ziti

2-3 links sweet Italian sausage
1/2 lb ground beef
1 lb. ziti noodles
1 qt. Spaghetti sauce
1 lb mozzarella cheese, grated
1 lb med. sharp cheddar cheese, grate
4 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated

Mix italian sausage (casings removed) with ground beef. Brown and drain. Boil ziti noodles 5 to 7 min. until no quite soft, drain and rinse. Add the meat mixture and spaghetti sauce to noodle. layer in 9 X 13 pan: 1/2 ziti misture, 1/2 of all cheeses next. Repeat layers. Bake 350 for about 1 hour.

Everyone loved this! This recipe is going into our regular rotation.

I did make some changes though:

I only used 16 oz cheese, and that was plenty! 8 oz of each kind (then just sprinkled some parmesean on it.

I used baby ziti noodles. The kids prefer those over the large ones. Still used 16 oz.

I ended up using 2 jars of Ragu. That was more than 1 qt.
